Discover the best Lasagna Bolognese Recipe

Lasagna Bolognese, a typical Italian recipe from Emilia-Romagna, is named after the city of Bologna. Despite their regional origin, lasagne  is now prepared throughout Italy. Moreover, they are also considered an icon of Italian cuisine all over the world. Because of its ingredients and its preparation, the Bolognese lasagne recipe embodies the idea of ​​”richness” of the Bologna cuisine, and its success is assured among adults, as well as children.

Ingredients for 4 portions

Lasagna (not pre-cooked) – 250 g
Parmesan – grated 100 g
Bechamel – 500 g
Meat broth – 150 ml
Extra virgin olive oil – 2 spoons
Butter – 30 g
Bacon – 50 g
Beef – chopped 150 g
Tomato – 150 ml
Carrots – ½
Onions – ½
Celery – 1 branch
Red wine – ½ glass
Milk – ½ glass
Black pepper

The recipe for  lasagne bolognese begins with the preparation of the meat broth.

Then, slice the onion, carrot and celery and fry in a butter and olive oil. After a few minutes, add the chopped meat and the bacon cut into small pieces. Let it brown over high heat for a few minutes. Without lowering the fire, sprinkle with red wine and deglaze. Then add tomato coulis, meat broth, milk, pepper and a pinch of salt, and simmer for at least two hours. Do not forget to stir the sauce once in a while.

When the sauce is ready, preheat the oven to 160 ° and begin to arrange your lasagne in a rectangular oven dish. To do this, butter the bottom of the dish, spread out two spoons of sauce and cover it with a layer of lasagne. Finally, cover with a few spoons of bechamel, cover all with a good layer of sauce and sprinkle with grated Parmesan cheese. Continue the arrangement of the lasagna by forming another layer of pasta and covering it exactly like the previous one. Depending on the size of your baking dish, choose the number of layers to be made. Finish your lasagne with a layer of béchamel and sauce, then sprinkle with a good amount of grated Parmesan cheese.

Bake in the oven for at least 50 to 60 minutes, checking the cooking from time to time: the lasagna will be ready when their surface appears well browned and browned. Once ready, remove the lasagna from the oven and let stand for 10 minutes, then cut into portions and serve.


As you may have noticed,lasagne is a very rich dish; this is why it is often served as a single dish or accompanied by a simple green salad. However, if you wish, you can add to each layer of lasagna a few hazelnuts of butter, to make the whole even more creamy, delicate and tasty.
